South Padre Island lies on the southernmost tip of Texas and is situated on the south end of Padre Island, the longest Barrier Island in the world and the largest stretch of undeveloped ocean beach in North America. The beach has a variety of activities for families to enjoy together. Here are just a few:

Dolphin Watches

The Texas coast is home to a wide variety of marine life including spinner and bottle-nose dolphins. Visitors can see these wild animals up close on the many dolphin watch and eco-tours available. A favorite for all ages, the dolphins are natural performers and never cease to delight and amaze their audience.

Horseback Riding

Texas beaches are one of the treasures of our State that families can experience together. South Padre Island offers visitors the chance to see the beach from the back of a real Texas  horse. Enjoy a guided tour of the beach and explore where your car can’t take you.

Windsurfing and kiteboarding let you take advantage of our coastal breeze to skim across the waves. Whether your a beginner looking for lessons or a a pro looking for a new venue our backyard won’t disappoint.  There is always a breeze and there are conditions suitable for all experience levels.

South Texas may not be recognized as a surfing destination but we have all the conditions a surfer could ask for and a long history of the sport here. There are surfing instructions available for those wanting to learn as well as the annual Texas State Surfing Championships for the competitive surfer.

Beach Park At Isla Blanca

Beach Park At Isla Blanca located on beautiful South Padre Island is known for their signature landmark Sand Castle and offers interconnecting water rides and slides, thrilling uphill coasters, a man-made surfing wave, a zip line soaring 100 feet high, and direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. The park is open April through September.
